PrettyStuff™ was named years ago when I tried to choose a descriptive name so my friends and customers understood what I made, but I couldn't choose just one label without limiting my creativity.

But let's go back to the very beginning, when I was a very tall, skinny kid sewing my own clothing to fit my slight frame. You see, my particular shape wasn't represented in size nor style on store shelves.

So, my trademark, my way of personalizing my self-presentation soon became the expanded use of color, of appliqués, jewelry, stones, beads, and sets, for further embellishment of my clothing and of myself.  All my life, I've sewn and knitted a lot of scarves and dresses (I even knitted a couple of coats).

Then there was my great interest in photography, culminating in a photo safari to Ethiopia, Kenya, and Tanzania in Eastern Africa. Spectacular fun!

More recently, I've been taking classes and working in lapidary; that is, stone cutting, polishing, and the setting of stones for jewelry.  I've also been making the settings, themselves, for my jewelry.

What's even more exciting for me is that I've gotten to know and share great friendships with a whole new group of "rock" artisans.  I'm grateful for their willingness to share with me, their original ideas, and their impressive work. These creative people are so positive and very encouraging of each other. But their encouragement of me, and their inspiration for my own creativity, has been nothing short of spectacular.

I'm certainly reminded to surround myself with this kind of person and attitude always, that way I'm most likely to stay creative.


Now, about my current products:  First, there are  "Fabulous Evening Bagz," which are individually decorated evening bags that are useful and fancy, handy, but are absolutely always beautiful.  Also offered are "Hot Hatz" for your Spring, Summer, Fall wear (and when Winter comes around, there will be new head gear for that season, too).  And finally, being offered soon are "Wonderful Wearablz," a variety of clothing items to make you feel special and well-dressed, and home decor items.

Since I'm learning that creativity is ever-growing and ever-changing, new ideas seem to be "gifted" to me more often, lately.   And, when time and creativity allow,  I will introduce:  "Dramatic Decorz" (items for your front door, wall, or hall table), "Fun Jewelz," "Ribbonz" (both offering fun items to decorate you), plus "Clayz" (work with Polymer Clay), and much more.

So, we'll just have to discover together what gorgeous things the creative spirit will offer next on prettystuff.biz.  Also, maybe some new artisan partners may decide to market their own  creations on prettystuff.biz.

Please keep in mind that these items are one - of - a - kind, so these unique items will be removed from my website just as soon as they are sold -- day or night !
